Bhutan trip proposal for Samira
Trip description

Discover the essence of Bhutan on a journey that blends iconic sights, immersive culture, and heartfelt hospitality. Begin in Thimphu, where tradition and modern life meet—visit the towering golden Buddha, explore local markets, and stroll through handicraft stalls. Then travel to Punakha to admire the stunning Dzong, nestled at the confluence of the Phochu and Mochu rivers, home to some of the country’s finest traditional art.

A special highlight awaits in Tangsibji Village, one of Bhutan’s hidden gems. You’ll be welcomed like family at my ancestral farmhouse, where you’ll share stories, meals, and laughter with my cousins. It’s a rare chance to experience everyday Bhutanese life in a setting untouched by mass tourism.

From there, continue to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, rich with ancient temples and quiet valleys. On the return to Paro, take in the beauty of Phobjikha Valley—a wide glacial plain known for its natural beauty and as the winter home of the endangered black-necked cranes. Finally, visit the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Paro before continuing on your onward journey.

This journey is designed with purpose: less time on the road, more time to connect. Every stop offers sights, sounds, and encounters that leave a lasting impression—an experience that touches not just your senses, but your spirit.

It houses the throne room of His majestic the king of Bhutan, government ministries, the nation’s largest monastery and the headquarter of Holiness the Je- khenpo (the chef abbot) There are small handicraft shops along the main street, just outside the textile museum which may have objects of your shopping interest.

The hike takes you through thick blue pine forests, with perfect views of Thimphu valley.
